This morning
there were ice on our terrace! Last year, we had very warm
weather, this time of the year. Summer temperatures. I
really hope that we will have some warmer weather, later
this Fall, before the winter comes.

Yesterday
evening the dancing evenings started again after Summer.
Cecilie also came with me at the dance. It was very funny
to dance again!

My parents, and
aunt and uncle, left on Sunday morning. It was very
nice to have them wisiting us.
Almost the entire
Sunday, Charles was digging with our tractor, on our
lawn. We are going to put up a "barbeque house" in
our garden. We are looking forward to this.
I have read a new
book: Odd Thomas, by Dean Koontz. The book was VERY
exiting.

"The
dead don't talk. I don't know why." But they do try
to communicate, with a short-order cook in a small
desert town serving as their reluctant confidant.
Odd Thomas thinks of himself as an ordinary guy, if
possessed of a certain measure of talent at the Pico
Mundo Grill and rapturously in love with the most
beautiful girl in the world, Stormy Llewellyn. Maybe
he has a gift, maybe it's a curse, Odd has never
been sure, but he tries to do his best by the silent
souls who seek him out. Sometimes they want justice,
and Odd's otherworldly tips to Pico Mundo's
sympathetic police chief, Wyatt Porter, can solve a
crime. Occasionally they can prevent one. But this
time it's different. A mysterious man comes to town
with a voracious appetite, a filing cabinet stuffed
with information on the world's worst killers, and a
pack of hyena-like shades following him wherever he
goes. Who the man is and what he wants, not even
Odd's deceased informants can tell him. His most
ominous clue is a page ripped from a day-by-day
calendar for August 15.
Today is August 14.
In less than twenty-four hours, Pico Mundo will
awaken to a day of catastrophe. As evil coils under
the searing desert sun, Odd travels through the
shifting prisms of his world, struggling to avert a
looming cataclysm with the aid of his soul mate and
an unlikely community of allies that includes the
King of Rock 'n' Roll. His account of two shattering
days when past and present, fate and destiny
converge is the stuff of our worst nightmares—and a
testament by which to live: sanely if not safely,
with courage, humor, and a full heart that even in
the darkness must persevere.

Today
it's Joakim's 12th birthday. We have been celebrated
his birthday with lots of guests, cakes and goodies.

We had a
very nice evening yesterday, together with my parents, aunt and uncle.
It's
a terrible weather here today, so we are just staying
indoors. It's blowing a strong wind, and raining a
lot.
Today we
have had some cakes and coffee, and celebrated
Joakim's 12 birthday in advance.

On
wednesday, after work, I baked 4 cakes (I doubled the
ingredients for 2 different cakes, so I got 4 cakes).
My parents, aunt and uncle are coming to see us
tonight. They are stayng until Sunday. On monday it is
Joakims 12th birthday. I am going to make a homemade
pizza til they are coming.
Yesterday Cecilie and I went to church. In Norway,
the children are normally confirmated during the
year that they are 15 years old. Almost whole her
class is going to be confirmated next spring.
(2008). Yesterday all the confirmants and their
parents where invited to a information meeting about
the confirmation, in the church.
Lately
I have decided to buy a Betta (fish), for our fish
bowl. I have not missed the aquariums since I sold
them, but I belive it would be nice to have one fish
in the fishbowl.

Yesterday
we bought a new bike for Joakim, so now both Cecilie and
Joakim has gotten a new bike this year.
Next
spring, it is Cecilie's confirmation. She is going to
have her own bunad, and I have just ordered this bunad
to the lady who is going to sew it. A bunad is very
expencive. I have saved money for a long time, to afford
it. After work today, I sat down at our terrace, in the
sunshine, and started to write down the guest list, and
some other stuff. We are going to invite about 60-70
guests for her confirmation, so it's okey to have
several months to plan this.
Joakim's
12th birthday is on Monday (August 27th). My parents,
and my aunt and uncle are coming to see us this weekend,
so we are going to celebrate a bit.

This weekend we have been
outdoors a lot. We have been working in our garden.
Charles har put up a kind of a rack that we are going to
have some climbing plants.

I have also found time to
read the last book written by a Norwegian writer Unni
Lindell. The book was very exciting, and I just had to
finish reading the book, before I went to bed last night.
Today is the first day at
school for Cecilie and Joakim, after their summer holiday.
They were both looking forward to go to school now, and
did not have any trouble getting out of bed this morning.

Now my
vacation is over, and I am going to work tomorrow. I have
really enjoyed my vacation.
We have done
lots of diffenent stuff during our vacation: We have been
to Turkey, we have been camping with our caravan, and we
have been wisiting both Charles' and my familiy.
Cecilie and
Joakim has one week left, until they are starting at
school.
This day I
have been making gel, out of the redcurrants from our
garden, and I have also put some berries in the freezer,
for dessert. We also had some of the berries for dessert
today.

Today
Cecilie and I have been picking redcurrants from our
garden. Because of my cold, I haven't made anything out of
the berries yet. I will try tomorrow, and hope that I am
feeling better then.
Charles and
Joakim have been tidying in the outhouse. Charles also
changed the old door in the outhouse.

It's
wonderful to come home a bit early from the vacation. We
have "tons" of laundry, and lots of stuff to take care of,
until we go to work again. We also must empty our caravan.
The garden also needs to be taken care of, after almost 3
weeks "by itself". We got some plants from my parents, and
today I have put them into the soil, and in our garden.
Charles has
been on the roof today, and done the last finish on the
chimney. We have also bought some boards, to make a floor
down in the garden, by a flowerbed.
I am having
a cold, and everything that I do, takes much longer time
than it use to. But, I am not ill enough to stay in bed,
so I'd rather do what I have planned to do, and just take
the time I need.

We came home
from our Summer vacation yesterday evening.

Today it's
raining here, but yesterday the sun was shining.
Charles and
I have been one week in Turkey. See photos
here.
After our
week in Turkey, we spent a few days, in our caravan, in
Örebro in Sweden, some days in Tønsberg in Norway, and a
couple of days with one of my sisters and her family, and
my parents, totally 1 1/2 weeks, Charles and I, together
with Cecilie and Joakim.
