Our preparations (scroll down for english text):

 

Konfirmantene skal delta på følgende, før overhøringsgudstjenesten og konfirmasjonsdagen:

- 12 timers undervisning i klasse

-Deltakelse på 8 gudstjenester

-15-20 timer i interessegruppe (Cecilie ville være med i sanggruppa)

-Ha tatt teorien til konfirmantsertifikatet (d.v.s. at de skal kunne 8 ting utenat, som trosbekjennelsen, Fader vår osv.)

 

 

På kvelden den 5. september 2007 var alle konfirmantene, med foreldre på kveldsgudstjeneste, med masse informasjon om konfirmasjonen. Kirken her i byen blir renovert og pusset opp, så denne gudstjenesten måtte holdes i kapellet. (Der Charles og jeg giftet oss i 2003.)

 

Den 16. september 2007 var vi i presentasjonsgudstjeneste for konfirmantene. På grunn av kirkes oppussing, måtte denne gudstjenesten måtte holdes i skolens aula.

 

I januar (2008) begynte vi å jobbe litt med invitasjonene, og sendte de ut i slutten av januar. Det er greit å få ut invitasjonene i god tid, så gjestene får tid til å forberede seg. Det er mange som bor langt unna oss.

 

Den 9. februar 2008 kjørte vi til sydamen som skal sy bunaden til Cecilie, så Cecilie fikk prøve den. Nå er det ikke så lenge før den blir ferdig.

 

Onsdag 20. februar, på kvelden var Cecilie og jeg i kapellet i to timer. Konfirmantene skal være med på årets innsamlingsaksjon, (Kirkens nødhjelp), og vi fikk informasjon om dette, samt at vi fikk se en film fra forskjellige steder i verden, som skal få støtte fra denne innsamlingsaksjonen.

Konfirmantene skal gå med bøsser, mens vi foreldrene skal være med å hjelpe til med forskjellige ting. Noen skal bake boller og rundstykker, andre skal registrere, mens andre igjen (som jeg) skal kjøre bil, og kjøre barna rundt så de får gå med bøsser.

 

På kvelden, tirsdag 11. mars 2008, var 40 000 konfirmanter over hele Norge ute og gikk med bøsser, for Norges Røde Kors. Cecilie var også det, og jeg hadde meldt meg for å kjøre bil i går, så de som skulle samle inn penger, ble kjørt dit de skulle. Jeg kjørte Cecilie og en venninne. Vi var ute i nesten 3 timer. Jeg satt i bilen hele tiden, mens jentene gikk fra hus til hus og samlet inn penger. Jeg tror de fikk inn ganske mye, men jeg vet ikke hvor mye.

 

Sydamen har nå, den 30. mars 2008, sydd ferdig bunaden til Cecilie.

Cecilie har hentet den i vinterferien. Jeg har lagt ut et bilde av den her.

 

 

Den 1. april bestilte jeg en marsipankake med bilde av Cecilie på, jeg sjekket pris på blomsteroppsatser samt at jeg var en runde og kjøpte en masse pynt, lys og duker som vi skal pynte bordene med, til Cecilies konfirmasjon. Se bilder av det jeg kjøpte her.

 

5. april var vi og kjøpte dress, skjorte og finsko til Joakim. Han ble kjempefin! Nesten som en konfirmant. Men, det er enda to år igjen, for Joakim skal konfirmeres.

 

9. april var Cecilie og jeg hos fotografen, og avtalte hvordan bildene skal tas. Den 29. april skal vi tilbake. Da skal han ta konfirmasjonsbilder av Cecilie.

 

Søndag 20. april var Cecilie ferdig med alle de 8 tingene hun må kunne utenat (de fremfører dette for presten, som må godkjenne det). Nå er det kun en søndag igjen, før konfirmasjonssøndagen.

 

Onsdag 30. april er overhøringsgudstjenesten.

 

Fredag 2. mai skal alle konfirmantene bli fotografert med kappene på seg. (Fellesbilde.)

The candidates for confirmation are supposed to participate to the following, before the confirmation:

-12 hours of education at school

-Participation on 8 church services

-15-20 hours in special groups (Cecilie wanted to be in the "song group"

-They have to learn 8 prayers, the profession of faith and other stuff.

 

 

In the evening, at September 5th 2007, all of the confirmations with their parents went to an evening church service. The church in our town is under renovation, so this church service had to be in the chapel. (The same chapel, where Charles and I got married in 2003.)

 

At September 16th 2007 there were a presentation church service. Due to the church renovation, this church service had to be in the school's assembly hall.

 

In January (2008) we started to work on the invitations, for Cecilie's confirmation. We sent the invitations in the mail, late in January. The confirmation is not until May, but it's nice to have good time. Lots of the guest are living far from us, and needs time to plan their trip.

 

At February 9th 2008, we drove to the lady who is going to sew Cecilie's bunad, so that Cecilie was able to try it on. Now the bunad soon will be finished.

Wednesday February 20th, in the evening Cecilie and I went to the chapel for two hours. The confirmants are going to participate on this years Lenten Campaign fundraising for Norwegian Church Aid.

Every year, Norwegian churches and congregations mobilise people for fundraising activities all over Norway. The majority of NCA's Lenten Campaign fundraising is carried out by volunteers across Norway. Every year, thousands of young confirmants, their parents, and local congregation members go from door to door raising both money and public awareness for global justice. Norwegian Church Aid chooses a different theme for the campaign each year, related to a specific area of NCA's work.

Thuesday March 11th, on the evening, was the day for this Campaign, and Cecilie who is going to be confirmated this year, participated in this, just like the other 40 000 confirmants from all over Norway. I had volunteered to drive some of the children, so that they were able to go from door to door, and ask for money for the good cause. I drove Cecilie and a friend of her. I did not leave the car, because I was ill. But the girls went from door to door, while I drove them, when the distances were too long to walk. We were out raising money for 3 hours. I do not know how much money they raised, but I belive that they god quite much.

The dressmaker has now finished Cecilie's bunad, at March 30th 2008. I have posted a photo of Cecilie with her new bunad, here.

At April 1st, I ordered a cake with a photo of Cecilie, on it, from the local bakery, I have checked prices for flower decorations, at the local florist (this is quite expensive in Norway) and I have been on several shops and bought lots of decorations, candles, and table cloths that we are going to decorate the tables with, for Cecilie's confirmation. At April 5th, we went to the city and bought a new suit, a shirt and new shoes for Joakim. He looked almost like a young boy who is going to be confirmated. But he will have to wait for two years, to be confirmated. But he has to have nice clothes for Cecilie's confimation.

At April 9th, Cecilie and I had an appointment with the photographer. We agreed how we want the photos to look like. At April 29th we are going back to take Cecilie's confirmation photos.

At Sunday April 20th Cecilie had finished learning all the 8 prayers. She had to say them to the priest, so he could approve it.

At Wednesday 30th there are going to be arranged a special church service, for all the confirmants.

At Friday May 2nd all the confirmants are going to be photographed in their cloaks. (This is going to be a photo of all the confirmants together.)

And at Sunday May 5th, it's Cecilie's confirmation day!
